New Flight Corridor in Central Asia: Enhanced Efficiency and Savings for Airlines

We are thrilled to inform you of a significant development in air navigation, thanks to the joint coordination between the air navigation service providers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.

A new corridor for aircraft flights has been introduced, promising increased efficiency and cost savings for airlines.

The Introduction of the T-916 Zonal Navigation Route

On July 11, 2024, the official publication and implementation of new sections of the T-916 zonal navigation route took place.

This newly established route strategically connects the western and eastern parts of the Republic of Uzbekistan, offering the shortest distance for flight operations between Europe and Asia.

The route's efficiency was immediately demonstrated when Lufthansa, the German airline, became its first user on the very day of its launch.

Significant Savings for Airlines

The introduction of the T-916 route is set to provide substantial benefits for airlines.

By shortening the flight path by 40 kilometers, airlines can expect to save between 30 to 50 tons of jet fuel annually during daily operations.

This reduction in fuel consumption not only lowers operational costs but also contributes to environmental sustainability.

Ongoing Developments in Air Traffic Management

The State Unitary Enterprise Center "Uzaeronavigation," in collaboration with neighboring countries' providers, continues to work diligently on introducing new Air Traffic Management (ATM) routes.

These efforts are part of a broader initiative to enhance flight efficiency and safety across the region.
